What is Houghton Off Campus Housing?
Houghton Off Campus Housing (often abbreviated HOCH) is a property management group. We work with several different landlords and building owners to advertise, lease, and manage their rentals.
What is the process to get a lease?
Applications for prospective tenants will open on September 1. We will begin offering leases on November 1. Leases are offered via email and signed electronically.
How do I apply?
Click the “Apply Now” button anywhere on the site to be taken to our online application.
What is the tenant portal?
All tenants have access to an online portal where they can make rent payments, submit maintenance requests, view move-in checklists, and more. The tenant portal is available on the web or as an app on any smart phone.
Do you offer maintenance?
Yes - maintenance requests can be submitted online through the tenant portal. For maintenance emergencies there is a 24/7 on-call emergency maintenance phone to call in issues.
What are the payment options?
Tenants can make rent payments through the tenant portal. There are options for one-time or recurring payments using a bank account, credit card, or debit card. There is also the option to mail a check if you prefer.
Can I sublease?
Yes. We provide a sublease agreement to fill out with the person who will be subletting. This form helps protect you and the sublessee. A copy of the agreement must be sent to HOCH as well. We will send a confirmation to you, your sublessee, and all remaining tenants in the unit. Your sublessee will also get access to the tenant portal on our website.
